LN2 Dry Shipper Reservation Calendar

To reserve the Liquid Nitrogen CX100 Dry Shipper, send me an email at julian@zoology.ufl.edu. In your message, tell me the date(s) you want to reserve the unit, whether the material you will be storing is a biohazard, whether you will be shipping the unit (i.e., by FedEx or UPS), and whether you want the cardboard case (lighter but not very sturdy) and/or the hard case (much sturdier, but heavier). When you return the dry shipper, please remove any shipping labels, baggage claim stickers, inspection tags, tape, etc. that may have been placed on the case or dry shipper while they were in use by you.

Anyone intending to use the dry shipper must be trained in its safe and appropriate use before taking possession of it, and it must be returned clean. Here are some helpful instructions (from U. Wash. EH&S) for preparing the dry shipper. Special, specific precautions must be taken if your material is infectious. Note that our dry shipper does not contain removable, autoclavable absorbent material or canes. Here are some potentially valuable documents for air travel: FAA Bulletin, IATA Table, US DOT letters.

(1)   Evaporation rate and static holding time are nominal. Actual rate may be affected by the nature of the contents, atmospheric conditions, container history, and manufacturing tolerances.
(2)   Work time is an arbitrary, reference-only value to estimate container performance under the actual operating conditions. Actual working time may vary widely depending on individual use patterns.
(3)   Without canisters or racks.
