Discovery, a 42-ft custom-built research
vessel is suitable for offshore work,
diving activities, onboard research, and
transportation to nearby bays and rivers.
Groups
of up to 25 persons can be accommodated
on the boat, depending on the activity.

| Two 21-ft boats with 60 hp
motors. These well boats or "birddogs"
are flat bottom boats with trailers. These
have a large open rear deck ideal for trawling
and dredging, but are only suitable for
inshore work. |

| Two 16-ft skiffs with 25 hp
motors. These
are available for travel to island and local
areas during fair weather.

|
| One 21-ft Carolina skiff with
90 hp motor. This boat has a normal
hull that takes waves better than the other
two boats and has a low draft. Its
design enables it to travel in shallow water
and carry a large amount of equipment.
This boat can carry up to 10 people and
is faster than the 21-ft boats. |

One other boat is used
for transporting 200 gal propane tank.
This tank is used to re-fuel to propane
tanks on the island that supply fuel to
the generators, gas stoves, water heaters,
and gas refrigerator.
